The all-new KR 806-4GM universal anchor drilling rig was presented to an international trade show audience for the first time at CONEXPO/CON-AGG. The event is North America's largest construction expo and was held from March 10 to 13, 2020 in Las Vegas.
With a 160 kW Volvo Penta engine the KLEMM KR 806-4GM meets the growing demand in the US for mechanized handling of drill rods and casings. The powerful drilling rig for overburden drilling with an enhanced, remote-controlled MAG 6.1 magazine for double-head drilling (patented) features more compact dimensions and a lighter weight design than the tried-and-tested, widely used KR 807-7 Series. The newly developed, stable kinematics assembly allows the heavy mast to be positioned safely.
The KR 801-3GS, the most compact, fully equipped drilling rig in the KLEMM product range, was also presented. Powered by a 117 kW Caterpillar C4.4 ACERT engine, the equipment features a universal kinematics system for anchor drilling. The double-head system can be pivoted sideways from the drill axis for applications such as installing rebar cages or anchors in the bore hole. The rig can be used in low-headroom situations thanks to a lengthwise divisible mast.
The engines of the exhibits meet US EPA Tier 4 final emission standards. Both rigs feature reduced fuel consumption and noise emissions thanks to the built-in energy efficiency package (EEP). They are also fully radio-controlled.
